The journey of silver cutlery through the hands of our employees
Every Robbe & Berking product is a piece of art, crafted by hand in our manufacture in Flensburg. On the occasion of our 150th anniversary, we would like to introduce you to some of the people that work for Robbe & Berking and forge silver by hand and with their hearts on a daily basis.
To start with, Norbert (l.) extracts the rough shape of the silverware from the greenware by punching. Thorsten (r.) then fettles the product with a sanding belt.
Kevin (l.) sands the edges and surfaces of the fettled silverware, and Frank (r.) then polishes the sanded piece, preparing it to be silver plated in the Galvano department.
In the Galvano department, Christoph (l.) gives the silverware its silver- or gold coating, whereupon Finn (r.) gives it a final polish.
Last but not least Kinga (l.) guarantees the perfection of the silverware, and Britta (r.) finally sends your silver on its journey to you.
There are many more people involved in the making of each silver product. They all love craftsmanship, beauty and truthfulness, and they all keep our brand's promise: a refusal to compromise. Read more about our 150th anniversary here.
