Tips for silver care
Silver cutlery is the perfect companion for every day. All of our products tell their own story and are made with masterful craftsmanship. Don't wait for a special occasion, use your silver regularly. For the enjoyment of the real and beautiful in everyday life, so that our products bring you long and frequent joy.
Cleaning silver in the dishwasher
Contrary to popular belief, silver can actually be cleaned in the dishwasher. Please note the following points:
- Avoid detergents that contain citric acid. We recommend, among others, the Classic dishwasher tablets and the Classic dishwasher powder (a level teaspoon is sufficient) from Claro. Please also use the appropriate rinse aid and dishwasher salt.
- Open the dishwasher after the wash cycle, as newer dishwashers do automatically.
- Important: Before first use and after each use with the silver cleaning cloth and/or silver polish, the silver must be cleaned once by hand with washing-up liquid.

Washing silver by hand
If you wash your silver by hand, please note the following:
- Use a soft cloth or a soft brush to avoid scratches.
- Avoid detergents containing citric acid.

Storing silver safely
The best protection against tarnishing is daily use.
So just keep it in your cutlery drawer and use it frequently. However, if you don't use your cutlery for a long time, we recommend our cutlery bags or cover cloths.

Maintain silver shine through care
If you follow these tips, the silver shine will last for a long time. However, due to the natural sulphur content in the air, the precious natural material will tarnish after a certain time. The silver lives and changes - this patina makes it particularly beautiful. However, it can also be easily removed again:
- If the discoloration is slight, use our silver mitt or our silver cleaning cloth. After cleaning, clean the silverware once by hand with washing-up liquid before putting it back in the dishwasher.
- If the discoloration is more severe, use our silver polish with the glove or Cloth. After cleaning, clean the silverware once by hand with washing-up liquid before putting it back in the dishwasher.
- Important: When it comes to food, contact with egg, citrus fruits and vinegar should be avoided. When caring for products, no silver or immersion baths, bleach, aluminum foil and salt should be used to clean silver.
