150 years of tradition and innovation: Anniversary novelties from Robbe & Berking
This year, the Flensburg-based silversmiths from Robbe & Berking are celebrating their 150th anniversary. In 1874, Nicolaus Christoph Robbe opened his first small atelier in Germany's northernmost port city, which quickly expanded after his son-in-law Robert Berking joined the company. 150 years later, the small manufactory has become the world-renowned silver specialist. Today, 200 employees work at Robbe & Berking with their hands, hearts and love for the products.
In the anniversary year, Lilli Berking, the daughter of the CEO Oliver Berking and the 6th generation of the family, takes over first management tasks.
And just as Robbe & Berking has been conquering the world for many decades, the manufactory is now taking their customers on a little trip around the world in their anniversary year: The journey begins in Palm Springs, the mecca of mid-century style, which today almost more than ever inspires designers and interior architects in their furnishing concepts. METROPOLITAN is the new edition of an absolute cutlery classic from the history of Robbe & Berking. Like no other cutlery pattern, it embodies the flowing and organic lines that characterise the mid-20th century.
From Palm Springs, the birthday trip continues to ice-loving Bologna. In hundreds of restaurants, it's all about frozen perfection. Anyone can make ice cream but making excellent ice cream is an artisanal skill. No one knows this better than the Italians. Thus, Robbe & Berking dedicates an exceptional gourmet waffle to them. Paired with a cream-coloured cutlery box and champagne box as well as a cream-coloured sprinkles bar, this travel section marks the start of summer.
In fall, Robbe & Berking travels back to where it's always best - back home. With the sterling silver chess set, Robbe & Berking launched one of the most valuable chess sets ever made in 2020. A series of other games will follow in autumn 2024, guaranteeing unforgettable family evenings. Christmas 2024 can come, with silver on the dining table and new games on the gaming table.

Exclusively made of wood, sailing and motor yachts of timeless beauty are built here.
